Museum Passes- County Libraries

Summer has come to a close and the lazy days of relaxing at the beach, pool, or your favorite vacation spot is now tucked away in your memory as you settle into your busy schedule of long days and hectic nights. With deadlines, parental responsibilities, school activities, and sports you may be asking yourself when is there time for fun? Let alone, on a budget. Well, you really don’t have to look far. Many local and County libraries have over 20 museum and 50 park passes that are available if you’re an adult in good standing, for free. Museum passes usually include two adults and up to four children depending on the venue. Park passes provide free parking and admission for one car and its occupants. Camden County library has eight branches and some museum passes are only available at one branch. Check the Website for a list of museum and park pass availability at: Camden county library.org/ pass.

For me, Fall is my favorite time of year. The hue of red, orange, yellows, and green leaves hug the roadways in a beautiful canvas of color that sparks my creativity and  hunger for adventure. It’s the perfect time of year take a road trip and explore the options the libraries have to offer. The library has several choices, but a few of my favorites are Wheaton Arts, Grounds for Sculpture, Philadelphia’s Magic Garden, and High Point Park.

Wheaton Arts has fall festivals, classes, and activities. It’s fun to watch the glass blown into pumpkins in all colors and different shapes, visit the shops, or sit at their outside café and have a bite to eat or drink.

Grounds for Sculpture is a museum/ park with sculptures in all shapes and sizes. It’s bamboo forest is fun to stroll through as you walk past the sculptures in all their splendor. Within the park you can visit their restaurant as you walk over the bridge and enjoy it’s romantic view of the lily filled pond filled with sculptures.

Philadelphia’s Magic Garden is a sight to see as well as you enter into a magical enchantment of mosaic murals that cover its walls and outside structures.

High Point park is spectacular in the Fall during leaf peak season. The view from High Point is 1,803 feet above sea level with spectacular panoramic views of farmlands, forests, hills, and valleys that span across three states. High Point offers hiking trails, angling and  camping annually. It also provides skiing in the winter months.

So, as you see there is fun to be had just by visiting your local library and exploring all it has to offer.

Enjoy your Fall and check out your library. I’m going to drop into mine soon.
